Data logging of OPC Item values to any Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Desktop (MSDE), and Oracle allow automatic Table creation and field creation, so very easy to setup database for data archiving.  Data recording and trend replay are performed with sampling as fast as 10 ms with no data loss.

This product includes OPCTrend with no additional cost which can also log to CSV files.

 

Looking for a Windows Service with networking?  A better solution would be OPC Database.NET which supports on-line configuration and data logging to SQL Server, SQL Server Desktop (MSDE), Access, Oracle, and CSV Files.
