OPC Systems.NET Applications Connection
All OPC Systems.NET components and the Service implement .NET Remoting for
communications, thus simplifying network connections. You could easily
implement a OPC Systems Service on a web server and through the Internet
remotely configure and run Smart Client applications. All you need is a
fixed IP address, network node name, or registered domain name on the Internet.

Each OPC Systems Service contains the license to provide support for local
and remote components.

Each OPC Client.NET license enables unlimited local and remote OPC Client
connections to the licensed OPC Systems Service.

The Configure OPC Systems.NET
application can configure local and remote OPC Systems Services for Tags,
Data Logging, Alarm Logging, and Options. The Configure
OPC Systems.NET application also is used
to enable licensing for the local OPC Systems Service.

The OPC Systems HMI is a .NET container for
OPC Trend.NET and OPC Alarm.NET.

Each OPC Controls.NET,
OPC Mobile.NET,
OPC Web Controls.NET,
OPC Trend.NET,
OPC Web Trend.NET,
OPC Alarm.NET, and
OPC Web Alarm.NET component can connect to local
and remote OPC Systems Services.

The OPC Systems Service can log Data and Alarms from both local and
remote OPC Systems Services. Using OPC
Recipe.NET data can be read from databases and transferred to local and
remote OPC Systems.NET Tags which in turn can be assigned to OPC Items.

The OPC Web Controls.NET,
OPC Web Trend.NET, and
OPC Web Alarm.NET
components can connect to any local or remote OPC Systems Service and
support unlimited remote browser connections.

The OPC Systems Service can connect to local and remote OPC Servers, but
by taking advantage of the OPC Systems.NET Remoting communications it is
recommended to connect OPC Servers locally and use the features within
OPC Systems.NET to provide the
communications. This way there will be no data lost if a network
connection is interrupted for up to 10,000 records for Data Logging and
Alarm Logging.
The OPC Route.NET feature can write real-time data from local and remote
Tags or Calculations to local and remote OPC Servers. This product is
best implemented by installing the OPC Systems Service at each local OPC
Server. This takes advantage of the product design of using .NET
Remoting to transfer real-time data, thus eliminating the troublesome
process of DCOM configuration.

Use the Calculation data source to combine multiple local and remote tags
into composite results of real-time equations.
